45. Recess at school

During fall, we used to have lots of outdoor activities like tag, monster and limbo. We also enjoy jumping on the raked leaves.

In spring, the bloomed flowers and the infant greenery leaves can’t make us resist from playing outdoor games like two – square.

The cold freezing wind makes us to cuddle up with coats and mittens and makes us busy to play indoor games such as seven-up and bubble gum bubble gum.

The hot burning sun during summer makes us to sit under a shady tree and play games like down by the river and slip slide slippy slide.

44. Day at Roger Williams’s Museum and Planetarium

On Saturday, we went to the Roger Williams’s museum and planetarium. We started the day by packing many things. My mom cooked the food and my dad packed the food and I helped my dad pack the food. We started the car and went on our way.

When we reached the destination, we were all speechless. We saw a museum and we went inside. It was amazing. I also took a quiz. I had to answer all the questions so that I could earn a prize. I also went to the second floor. I learned about plasma and many other things. After I finished the quiz I had to pick a prize.

I picked a mystery map. Then I ate the food we packed and bought lemonade. And it started to rain! We went back in time for out planetarium show. I was so tired that I fell asleep. And after I woke up it was time to go home.

But I will never forget my trip to the Roger Williams’s museum and planetarium.

43. A visit to the South-wick zoo

Today, I went to the South-wick zoo. I was so excited to see the animals. It wasn’t long before the bus arrived. I entered the bus and sat on my seat. The bus started and went on its way.

When we arrived at the zoo I was speechless. We were split into different groups. We had to follow a few rules. After we entered the zoo, I saw the monkeys, turkey, lions and bears. I also had $5 so I could buy an ice cream.

But, sadly we had to go back to camp, but I just couldn’t resist leaving South-wick zoo. And I couldn’t stay there I had to leave. Then we went back to camp, but I was already isolated. And I will never forget my trip to the South-wick zoo, and I hope I visit the South-wick zoo again.

42. A letter to Grandpa about thunder storm

Dear Grandpa,

How are you, I hope you are feeling good. We are all fine.

Today I started collecting books about coins and plants from the library. Last week there was a horrible thunder storm! We heard crashes of lightning and thunder. We all have many wishes but we wished that the thunder storm would be over in minutes but it felt like hours!

One day during the thunder storm a big tree crashed over many cars later some news reporters and doctors came to look at the injured. The roar of the lightning shattered our windows and pieces of glasses flew everywhere.

The reporters said it was really bunches of mysteries waiting to be solved. The rain came and the inches measured by the meteorological department is huge. The government spent lots of money to the damaged cause by the thunder storm. We also emptied our pockets to help pay for the damages. I made many copies of thunder poem that I wrote.

I tried to avoid thinking about the thunder storm and tried to think about parties instead of the thunder storm. There were many accidents during the thunder storm that the carpenters had to build new houses and the merchants had enough food to supply so we all ate happily.

41. The girl who liked sports

by Harini - Grade 3

One day in a small town was a small house and in the small house there was a small room and in the small room was a baby. Her name was Aquaria, Aquaria was very different from the other girls. Her parents came to know that she has interests in sports.

Her mother tried change her mind into learning to house-keep like all the other girls. Her father believed that she should have the same knowledge as men. So on the day she learned to walk her father taught her all of the things he knew.

Her mother did not agree but as she monitored her child she also began teaching her sports. One day when she was old enough her father decided to teach her astronomy and science. And she knew that she was more intelligent than anyone could imagine.

When she was 13 her parents told her to make a life of her own. They believed that she had enough knowledge to be careful of the outside world. After 9 years she decided to make a book and share her intelligence with the world. She wrote a book called ‘All the Knowledge, You Need To Know’.

From that day forward woman joined any sports they heard of. And we still remember the tale of Aquaria and her knowledge.
