55. The Haunted House

- By Harini, Grade III

There lived a grandma with her two granddaughters, Autumn and Victoria.

It was a Halloween night, they went to a house which was never spoken of. The grandma asked her granddaughter, Autumn to take care of Victoria. As they entered the haunted house they saw cobwebs, witches scarecrows and even pumpkins. Suddenly, a chilly air blew and they were really scared.

All of the raked leaves of the orchard trees flew away all of the leaf everywhere. An apple costume had leaped at Lindy, and she fainted! Victoria and autumn were scared too, yet not frightened.

The needles that had popped out of the floor looked like cornucopia, chestnuts and cranberry. Autumn and Victoria chopped the needles, using the martial art, karate. They ran out of the haunted house, and saved Linda.

After Linda woke up she thanked her granddaughters and gave each a treat and bought them a football. And they never spoke of the haunted house ever again.

54. Letter to aunt

Dear Aunt,

I am good here. How are you? Hope our grandparents do well.

I wonder if you ever raked the leaves or made a scarecrow. And only two more weeks until Halloween. I guess some of the kids costumes will be Spider-man, batman, princess, vampire and witches, and some of the decorations will be pumpkins, or cobwebs!

I also like to watch football games or bob for apples, but it is very chilly here and some of the leaf on the orchards are falling down because it is the beginning of autumn. I Hope, I get lots of chestnuts and cranberry.

I think Thanksgiving is much fun because l like cornucopia so much and l can’t wait.

I miss you a lot. Convey my regards to all my friends and grandparents.
                                                                                             Yours’s lovingly,

                                                                                              Harini

53. Journey to the forbidden Mountain

I set a voyage
To a forbidden mountain
For to treasure gold

I was once told
To avoid the poison herbs
Down the valley

However, I made a choice
To employ and appoint
Someone for any turmoil

We prowl, day in and day out
In shower and broil
To treasure thousand pots of gold

Throughout the journey
We neither complain nor annoy,
Never bounce back either

Finally,
Found Not Gold,
Yet Chowder!

51. Beach

Sun is at its peak
Under it the castle is warm
Merry go round on the beach
Merry merry children’s play
Eager to watch the ocean waves
Run away, when the waves touch my feet
