The moon shines upon us
Only other people could know the secret
The moon, has big craters

58. I have a tune

I have a tune
Just like the moon

The sun is shining
(2x) Bright on my face

I could almost taste
The strawberry cake

Oh yeah

I could taste them
I got the tune,
(2x) The right tune

Or the night tune Yeah

57. The Stormy Night

There lived a cowgirl called Runny bunny. She was an excellent artist. She could make a fortune with her art skills. Since it was October 4, the animal day, she wanted a horse. Runny bunny marched to the pet market to pick her pet.

She turned on the T.V to watch the news.  Unfortunately there was a forest storm coming up the north hill! Runny bunny was so afraid, she almost became a permanent mystery!

She walked herself up and headed outside, as she did she saw a squirrel munching on an acorn. She thought to herself that the squirrel had to eat that food to restore its energy. At the store Runny bunny made sure that she did her chore, which was getting a pet horse. She found a horse and took her as a partner. They rode together like a thorn poking at a bee. They marched toward the storm to strike its next mark. Fortunately they defeated the storm and won!

When Runny bunny woke up she realized that all had been just a dream.

56. The Trophy

There lived a girl Alex. She wanted her father to take her to see the sports of athlete games. She liked winning things for example fashion designing, sports and many more. Her father Harold, checked the weather and took Alex to the athlete.

When she got there she saw a pitcher and a catcher they threw a ball to her and she caught it and she threw it back, but they could not catch the ball. Harold watched the whole thing and said`` we are from the northern side. What about you?’’  They spoke up in a flash and said ``we are from the northern side, and I challenge you play with us “So Alex said ``I will establish some rules “She said in Spanish. Then she realized that they can’t understand Spanish so she repeated in English.

Alex said` `rule number 1, you have to say the alphabet. “So the pitcher did it. Alex quickly sneaked and got the trophy! They got in the car and Alex was happy!

55. The Haunted House

- By Harini, Grade III

There lived a grandma with her two granddaughters, Autumn and Victoria.

It was a Halloween night, they went to a house which was never spoken of. The grandma asked her granddaughter, Autumn to take care of Victoria. As they entered the haunted house they saw cobwebs, witches scarecrows and even pumpkins. Suddenly, a chilly air blew and they were really scared.

All of the raked leaves of the orchard trees flew away all of the leaf everywhere. An apple costume had leaped at Lindy, and she fainted! Victoria and autumn were scared too, yet not frightened.

The needles that had popped out of the floor looked like cornucopia, chestnuts and cranberry. Autumn and Victoria chopped the needles, using the martial art, karate. They ran out of the haunted house, and saved Linda.

After Linda woke up she thanked her granddaughters and gave each a treat and bought them a football. And they never spoke of the haunted house ever again.

54. Letter to aunt

Dear Aunt,

I am good here. How are you? Hope our grandparents do well.

I wonder if you ever raked the leaves or made a scarecrow. And only two more weeks until Halloween. I guess some of the kids costumes will be Spider-man, batman, princess, vampire and witches, and some of the decorations will be pumpkins, or cobwebs!

I also like to watch football games or bob for apples, but it is very chilly here and some of the leaf on the orchards are falling down because it is the beginning of autumn. I Hope, I get lots of chestnuts and cranberry.

I think Thanksgiving is much fun because l like cornucopia so much and l can’t wait.

I miss you a lot. Convey my regards to all my friends and grandparents.
                                                                                             Yours’s lovingly,

                                                                                              Harini

53. Journey to the forbidden Mountain

I set a voyage
To a forbidden mountain
For to treasure gold

I was once told
To avoid the poison herbs
Down the valley

However, I made a choice
To employ and appoint
Someone for any turmoil

We prowl, day in and day out
In shower and broil
To treasure thousand pots of gold

Throughout the journey
We neither complain nor annoy,
Never bounce back either

Finally,
Found Not Gold,
Yet Chowder!

49. The last week of school

During the last week of second grade, we had lots of fun. We got all the worksheets, files, folders and notebooks that we worked throughout the year.

We watched ‘’ despicable me 1 and 2’’ Mrs. Humes, Mrs. Tomasie and Mrs. Moore wish us ‘’ happy summer vacation’’. I missed the cookie experiment as I was absent on that day.

Mrs. Breton gave us the summer packet. She also gave the final year report card imprinted with third grade room number. She gave us a candy bag ice cream and more. Importantly ‘’ Bad kitty ’, the scholastic book, which I like the most.

Finally, when the bell rang we all yelled ‘’ summer’’. My parents greeted me with grad balloons and I took pictures along with Mrs. Breton.

46. My favorite meal at lunch

One day at school I was doing subtraction when the bell rang. It was time to go to lunch. The class rushed out the door eager to get their lunches. I was there waiting to get my lunch. When I get my lunch I entered my pin number (5------7) and sat down with my friends. My favorite lunch is cheese pizza.

We talked about what we are playing in recess. Sadie showed us her toy collections. I was amazed! But sadly, lunch was over. But the sadness vanished, we had recess!!!
After recess ended, we went back to class.

45. Recess at school

During fall, we used to have lots of outdoor activities like tag, monster and limbo. We also enjoy jumping on the raked leaves.

In spring, the bloomed flowers and the infant greenery leaves can’t make us resist from playing outdoor games like two – square.

The cold freezing wind makes us to cuddle up with coats and mittens and makes us busy to play indoor games such as seven-up and bubble gum bubble gum.

The hot burning sun during summer makes us to sit under a shady tree and play games like down by the river and slip slide slippy slide.

44. Day at Roger Williams’s Museum and Planetarium

On Saturday, we went to the Roger Williams’s museum and planetarium. We started the day by packing many things. My mom cooked the food and my dad packed the food and I helped my dad pack the food. We started the car and went on our way.

When we reached the destination, we were all speechless. We saw a museum and we went inside. It was amazing. I also took a quiz. I had to answer all the questions so that I could earn a prize. I also went to the second floor. I learned about plasma and many other things. After I finished the quiz I had to pick a prize.

I picked a mystery map. Then I ate the food we packed and bought lemonade. And it started to rain! We went back in time for out planetarium show. I was so tired that I fell asleep. And after I woke up it was time to go home.

But I will never forget my trip to the Roger Williams’s museum and planetarium.

43. A visit to the South-wick zoo

Today, I went to the South-wick zoo. I was so excited to see the animals. It wasn’t long before the bus arrived. I entered the bus and sat on my seat. The bus started and went on its way.

When we arrived at the zoo I was speechless. We were split into different groups. We had to follow a few rules. After we entered the zoo, I saw the monkeys, turkey, lions and bears. I also had $5 so I could buy an ice cream.

But, sadly we had to go back to camp, but I just couldn’t resist leaving South-wick zoo. And I couldn’t stay there I had to leave. Then we went back to camp, but I was already isolated. And I will never forget my trip to the South-wick zoo, and I hope I visit the South-wick zoo again.

42. A letter to Grandpa about thunder storm

Dear Grandpa,

How are you, I hope you are feeling good. We are all fine.

Today I started collecting books about coins and plants from the library. Last week there was a horrible thunder storm! We heard crashes of lightning and thunder. We all have many wishes but we wished that the thunder storm would be over in minutes but it felt like hours!

One day during the thunder storm a big tree crashed over many cars later some news reporters and doctors came to look at the injured. The roar of the lightning shattered our windows and pieces of glasses flew everywhere.

The reporters said it was really bunches of mysteries waiting to be solved. The rain came and the inches measured by the meteorological department is huge. The government spent lots of money to the damaged cause by the thunder storm. We also emptied our pockets to help pay for the damages. I made many copies of thunder poem that I wrote.

I tried to avoid thinking about the thunder storm and tried to think about parties instead of the thunder storm. There were many accidents during the thunder storm that the carpenters had to build new houses and the merchants had enough food to supply so we all ate happily.

41. The girl who liked sports

by Harini - Grade 3

One day in a small town was a small house and in the small house there was a small room and in the small room was a baby. Her name was Aquaria, Aquaria was very different from the other girls. Her parents came to know that she has interests in sports.

Her mother tried change her mind into learning to house-keep like all the other girls. Her father believed that she should have the same knowledge as men. So on the day she learned to walk her father taught her all of the things he knew.

Her mother did not agree but as she monitored her child she also began teaching her sports. One day when she was old enough her father decided to teach her astronomy and science. And she knew that she was more intelligent than anyone could imagine.

When she was 13 her parents told her to make a life of her own. They believed that she had enough knowledge to be careful of the outside world. After 9 years she decided to make a book and share her intelligence with the world. She wrote a book called ‘All the Knowledge, You Need To Know’.

From that day forward woman joined any sports they heard of. And we still remember the tale of Aquaria and her knowledge.

36. The swimming contest

One day three friends decided to enter the swimming contest. They told themselves that there is nothing to be worried about and they should keep believing themselves.

They also told their parents and they were so pleased that they immediately emptied their pockets! Their parents gave each of them plenty of money to buy anything from the store. After they shopped, they went to join the contest. They included themselves in the contest. No problem occurred until they discovered that the water was freezing cold! Actually, they were straying into the wrong pool and finally reached the right pool.

After they got to the right pool the adults started supplying the items needed. The adults started to be angry because they did not have enough supplies. Then a strangest thing happened and one of the girls spotted that some of the supplies fell into the pool and that it was the funniest thing.

The three girls jumped into the pool and got the supplies! They said it was the easiest contest and that the supplies were lighter and not heavier in the water to lift. They also earned a trip to Hawaii! The girls had the best day ever!
