105. Sat on the Newport ferry - Poem

Sat on the Newport ferry
Such a merry
Morning;

The ship stopped at the dock
We got out and saw a hawk;

We strode past the open shops
And even saw the spinning tops;

We saw a diner
And it was called The Mooring;

We went in haste
We ate in great taste;

We went to get ice cream at Frosty Freeze
It was so amazing;

We went back to the ship
Got ready to end the trip;

101. A ferry ride from Providence to Newport, Rhode Island

As I woke up this morning I was excited as a shooting star because today me my parents and our friends Jan and Bev were going to the Newport ferry ride!!

We packed our bags and we quavered with excitement about the fun ferry ride. We were all ready by the time 11:05 PM. Our friends came by and picked us up and we were all on our way to the ferry ride.

On our way we chatted about the ferry ride and I asked my mom how much the cost was to go on the ferry ride. My mom gave me a pamphlet and as I looked at the brochure I calculated the total cost of the ferry ride and it was $35.

I looked outside and I saw the dock where all of the boats came to take the next traveler. We took a seat under the shade and waited for the ship to arrive.

We all realized that we were supposed to stand in line. All of us went over and we stood in line. I took out my notebook and started writing poems.

One of our friends Jan saw the poem and she said that it was lovely. I also went ahead and drew a picture of a sailboat and a seagull.

The boat arrived so we all went aboard. We took a seat on the top deck. I took my binoculars out and I started sight seeing.

I saw two lighthouses and my mom took pictures of both of them. I kept sightseeing until I was hungry. I was really lucky that I had packed snacks.

I ate a cookie and I went back to sightseeing. I saw a dock and I knew that we were in Newport. We all got off and we walked around. We saw a nice shop and it was a shop with handbags and purses. Next we saw a nice dining place called The Mooring. I ate curly pasta, my mom ate shrimp, my dad ate a lobster, Jan also ate a lobster and Bev ate her favorite choice of seafood.

We were all finished with our lunch so we went to a shop with various things. I saw many games and books. My mom chatted about the jewelry. We exited the store and we went over to a bench.

Jan told Bev to sit and relax while we all checked out the shops. We saw a shop that had shoes so my mom got shoes and it was black. She threw out her old shoes and we went back to find Bev.

We found her and we rested on a bench for a while. We got up and we went to get ice cream. I got the flavor chocolate, my dad got the flavor black raspberry, my mom got a milkshake, Jan got mint chocolate chip and Bev got her favorite flavor.

When we sat down to eat, my ice cream melted all over my hand. I had to use all of the napkins to get the chocolate out.

We hurried back to the ship, seeing that it was not there. Me and Bev sat on a bench and talked about science. The time passed as quick as lightning.

The ship arrived so we got in line for the ferry. We got on the ship and we looked at the clouds and the nature. But on the other hand was feeling very sleepy.

I was really hungry, so my mom got me a lays chips. I chewed on it until it was empty. I looked at the horizon when I noticed that we were back at the dock.

I climbed out and I made my way to the car. We got in and we reached home. Indeed, we had a very good memorable day at new port.
