379. ELA Paragraph Essay

The Greeks believed in many things, but some of them differ from the contemporary view.
For instance, the Greeks believed that the world was flat. But in the present world, we
know that the world is a globe. They also assumed that gods came first, but were vanquished
by their children. Then their children created humans. This differs from the modern view because
we believe that humans evolved from monkeys, more specifically, apes. Although the Greek view
differed from ours, they still believed in many things that agree with our beliefs. For example, the
Greeks made up stories and myths to solve whatever problem they were unsure of, and so do we.
Lastly, the Greeks built monuments and statues to honor all the gods, and in the current world, we
make monuments to honor gods as well. To sum up, the Greek view and the contemporary view have
similarities, but the differences impact today's world.
