383. POV: Journal entry from Hermione (From Harry Potter!)

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone      POV/Main Character: Hermione Granger

I recently got accepted to Hogwarts and I’m really excited about my first class, Potions. I’ve heard that the teacher, Professor Snape can be a bit nasty, but I’m sure that I will be his favorite student! And also, while I was on the Hogwarts Express, I saw HARRY POTTER! And some other kid...Ron Weasely I think, and I just had to introduce myself! I was about to leave but I noticed that Ron had his wand out. I was absolutely thrilled because I had practiced a few spells already and they had all worked for me. But the spell didn’t work, and I left to change into my new robes.

You will not believe what just happened! Harry Potter is in Potions class with me and Professor Snape asked him, “What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?” The answer was obviously the Draught of Living Death, but Harry didn’t know that! And when we were with Madam Hooch, Harry was the first to get his broom up! I was so surprised! Harry didn’t know what the answer was to the question that Professor Snape asked, but how on EARTH could he know how to ride a broomstick?

It turns out that Harry is now the new Griffindor Seeker! I’m very excited because he’s the youngest House player in about a CENTURY! I’m just so proud of Harry right now, but I can’t say the same about Ron. I heard both of them saying that they were going into the Trophy room to duel with Malfoy. I tried very hard to stop them, of course, but they didn’t listen to me and I just had to follow along. It turns out that Malfoy told Filch that we would be there because he was hoping that we would be caught. But I cast a Muffilito spell, and we ran off into our dorm rooms. I sure hope that Harry and Ron learn from this experience, but I can only hope.

Ron is SO dim-witted! He can’t even perform a simple hovering charm! Honestly! We were both in class today, and Ron said, “Wingarduim Leviosa.” I corrected him, but he became stubborn and said that I had to do it myself. I succeeded, obviously and earned Griffindor 20 points. But Harry and Ron keep getting in trouble which only hurts Griffindor.  For example, they think that Professor Snape is after the Sorcerer’s Stone, which by the way, is impossible because he’s a teacher! And now I have to keep an eye on them because we can't afford to lose anymore hear earned points just because a couple of thick headed boys want to be adventurous!!

I hate to admit that I’m wrong, but I am.  It turns out that Professor Snape tried to get past Fluffy, the three-headed dog to get the Sorcerer’s Stone. Fortunately, we told Professor McGonagall about out suspicions and Dumbledore went to check it out. It turns out that we were right! In fact, Snape was trying to get past Fluffy to get the Stone! Shockingly, Professor Dumbledore somehow thought that Professor Snape was just trying to make sure it was safe. But mark my words! Something bad will happen revolving Professor Snape and You-Know-Who!
