WHERE IT ALL STARTED…
Mrs. Janice, our family friend, told my parents that she saw a movie named “Hidden Figures” and it was good, so she recommended us to watch it. Later that afternoon, me and my parents looked up the reviews, the ratings and the show timings of the movie. As the movie is rated as PG, we were all set up and we went ahead to see the movie at showcase cinemas, Warwick Mall!!
THE REASON WHY THE MOVIE INSPIRED ME…
It was a true story about the three women, Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson, who worked at NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration)
Katherine:
She was determined and wanted to work at the Space Task Group. She calculated complex trajectory calculations made by computers!! And capable of calculating coordinates points of latitude and longitude effortlessly. At a very young age, Katherine had a passion for numbers, and brilliant in mathematics.
Dorothy:
Dorothy is determined and hard-working, she took herself in a leadership role and made sure that her employees were getting the right paychecks. Dorothy was also promoted as a supervisor and she was an expert in engineering and knew how to fix computers. She was also an expert programmer in FORTRAN!!
Mary:
Was funny, determined and hard-working, she was involved in the wind tunnels and flight experiments. She was also an expert in engineering and had high hopes.
WHY I RECOMMEND THIS MOVIE…
I should really thank Mrs. Janice, our friend who suggested this move to us. Now I would really wish to recommend this movie to all my friends, because of the amazing awards that it had won, including 3 Oscars for best pictures, best adapted screenplay, best supporting actress, 2 Golden Globes and finally, the best original score.
I not only recommend this movie because of its awards, but also how the three-woman proved that the hard work always pays.
I personal like this movie because, when I was 7 years old, I had been to NASA, Florida along with my parents as a visitor to Kennedy Space Center and it was an amazing visit, but, I could barely remember.😞 I have also familiar with the term NASA when I was attending Mad Science during my 2nd and 3rd grade after-school program.
