175. The Summer Nights

I see….
Flashing Northern Lights,
emerge with  blinking stars
I Look around to see sticky marshmallows
and a bright flashlight in the dark green tent,
Beside it, I see an old oak tree
On it, I see a sly owl,
Ghost stories make me imagine a scary pale ghost
I see the murky water filled with croaking toads and green moss
The small fire flies are bright in the night sky

I Feel….
The cold night breeze feels like winter but,
I sit by the warmness of the fire
as I huddle in my warm blanket
My hand reaches out to hold the cold twig
that has the sticky marshmallows,

I hear…
The small crickets beside me crave for fruits,
The cracks of the cracker sounds
as if the woodpeckers are pecking the bark
The quiet flow of the river puts me to sleep
as I hear people sing traditional campfire songs
Squawking birds fly back to their nests
Owls hoot to let others know that it is time for bed

I smell….

The s'more fills the air with sweetness inside the camp tent
The hot fudge mixes with the s’more and it produces a sweet smell--
But, a horrible smell fills the air and I realize that it’s a skunk
I smell the cold damp woods, as I open my cold bubbling soda

I Taste….
The bubbling soda tastes as if  a thousand
firecrackers exploded in my mouth
The sweet sweet smores as it melts in my mouth
The salty sweet crackers are brittle and soft
